Buying or Renting
This will be an interesting experience. I can only tell you what I think will--or should--happen when you look at Maltese property because, as of this moment (June, 08), I'm only drooling over beautiful courtyards I already know I can't afford.
You are an excellent writer, and very, very funny. Perhaps if you place the toilet seat on the heater?

Hi Bill and Sharon, Thanks for your kind compliment. I'm considering what you said about placing the toilet seat on the heater. But what's worse--a blistered butt or a frozen one? I think I'll stick to the frozen one right now. In fact, I've actually been sticking to the seat itself lately. You know--like when kids lick something frozen outside and their tongues get stuck to it? (Can anyone tell me what all this has to to with Malta?)

Ilene--so you have been in Malta for a short while...where are you living and how is it? I really want to know about real prices for rentals or are you buying. You mentioned courtyards and yeah I totally fantasize about ancient thick white buildings with sweet enclosed courtyards. alexandra

Hi Alexandra--I really love our Maltese townhouse--two and a half bedrooms, yard and roof (that we use). But it's not in very good shape and it's on a very high-traffic main street in Sliema called Manwel Dimech. We pay 500 Euros/month---Ilene
